Wilhelm Schütze

Wilhelm Schütze (born July 19, 1840 in Kaufbeuren, died May 13, 1898 in Munich) was a German genre painter. Schütze was born in Kaufbeuren in 1840 as the son of a tool smith. In 1858 he was accepted into the class of antiquities at the Munich Art Academy and studied with Sándor Wagner. After graduation, Schütze settled in Munich and worked as a freelance artist. Pictures by Schütze can be found in the Neue Pinakothek in Munich and in the Chemnitz City Art Collection.
