Edgard Wiethase was born in Antwerp and studied at the Academy there with C. Boom, C. Mertens and P. Verhaert. He completed his training at the Nationaal Hoger Institut voor Schone Kunsten, also in Antwerp. He painted a wide range of subjects in a characteristically Belgian Impressionist style”
