Emile Baes was a painter of nudes, historical scenes, and portraits. He was born in Brussels in 1879, and died in Paris in 1953. A student at the Brussels Academy, he continued his studies at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris (Cabanel, Bonnat). He was also a Member of the Institut de France (Arto)
